A Phone Call (for "Last night &Tonight")

I filmed the phone call dream yesterday and will put it up soon x

1. I am waiting by the phone. It rings the accented voice on the other end says "Hello?" happily, then they say "Oh, its you. i dont have anything important to say. I'll call back later. I then say in a robotic monotone "How is your new house?" they say "Oh, It's ok, I was thinking maybe we could all go to the movies together sometime" I say "Good" There is silence and i hang up.

1. I am cradling a huge pile of cashews, shelled and unshelled. Someone tell me to close the garden gate because it's cold and then they tell me that the cashews smell really strong. They say this in a very negative way.

This is just a sample of one of the crochet pieces from The Live Blanket.

The Live Blanket - Progress

The Live Blanket is progressing well.I have made the base of the piece and have made half of the crotchet patches which are yet to be connected into the body of the blanket. The patches vary in material, texture and shape. Some are simple and basic crochet patterns others are like cungy voys, amoeba like structure that stick out from the blanket and wrap around the speakers. Next week i am meeting with David so i can get started on making the speakers/microphones and figure out the logistics of the amplification and the rest. I have decided to keep the colours in grades of black.  I want the audience to want to touch the sturcture and surface as their interaction with the blanket is vital to the success of the Live Blanket . x
